According to sources close to UK gaming magazine PSM3, Metal Gear Solid 5 is set to take place Africa during the 70s.

The game will see Big Boss take the staring role as well as welcoming back Gray Fox, the ninja from MGS 1.

Kojima Productions already have one unannounced game in development and Kojima himself recently stated the need for a new Metal Gear due to demands made by publisher Konami.

The series has close ties to Africa throughout it’s history, with Big Boss, Solid Snake, Gray Fox and Naomi Campbell all spending a part and being heavily influenced by the continent at some part in the timeline and we’re yet to have a Metal Gear game take place there so the setting fits.

The rumour itself comes from Dan Dawkins – the same man who predicted the GTA V announcement before it happened.  So there may be more to this rumour than meets the eye.
