Last week we reported on evidence that Capcom were preparing to release console ports of Resident Evil: Revelations on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It seems the evidence was valid, as Capcom have today announced versions of the game for those consoles, as well as the Wii U and as a digital download for Windows PC.

The console versions of Revelations will include “hight quality HD visuals, enchanted lighting effects and an immersive sound experience.”In addition, Capcom have included a “terrifying new enemy,” another difficulty option and more options in the original release’s online-centric Raid Mode. Players will be allowed to play as series fan favorite Hunk, as well as other Resident Evil characters not detailed in the announcement.

Resident Evil: Revelations was originally released on February 7, 2012 as a title exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS. It features series mainstays Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine as they fight their way through a zombie-infested ocean liner. It was mostly well received, and it will be interesting to see what sort of buzz it produces as the game finds new life with a wider audience.

Resident Evil: Revelations hits store shelves on May 21 in the U.S. and May 24 in Europe.
