EA, the developer of SimCity, has announced that the game’s beta will start next week, from January 25th to 28th. It will give fans the opportunity to play a one hour “slice” of the game, but they can replay it as many times as they want.
Those who interested in taking part in the beta testing have to sign up at the official SimCity’s site as soon as possible, because the beta testing is closed, which means places are limited. The registration will be closed on January 21. Must be noted, the beta is for PC owners only.
According to the information published on ign.com site, Maxis’ senior vice president Lucy Bradshaw said, “It is always an exciting moment to share a game that is still in development with its biggest fans prior to launch. This beta will help the team improve the live service aspects of SimCity to ensure a smooth and user-friendly experience at launch. I want to thank everyone for signing up – we are excited to share one of our most beloved franchises with our fans.”
The first SimCity game was launched in North America in 1989 for the Amiga, Macintosh, IBM PC, Commodore 64, and Atari ST. Since that time 8 new games have been released for different platforms, including Wii and Nintendo 3DS versions, iOS and Android apps. The new game will be launched only on PC at the beginning of March.
